More Videos Where and When We Want Them

Last week, Nielsen reported that on-demand video has become an increasingly popular content discovery platform. “While on average VOD contributes 4-5 percent in the coveted 18-49 demo, individual shows have seen upward of 15-20 percent increase in viewership from VOD.” Not only are viewers turning to video on demand more, they’re watching a lot more content on mobile devices. According to ComScore, “mobile platforms – smartphones and tablets – combined to account for 60% of total digital media time spent, up from 50% a year ago“   What does this mean for you as you plan your next event? A lot of things probably, but mainly it means you should be thinking about including VOD as part of your event experience.

With more and more people turning to VOD to catch up on shows they’ve missed, it’s likely that they would also want to watch videos from your conferences and events if they couldn’t attend in person. Or if your event has multiple sessions happening concurrently – like Gamification Summit did last month – video is a great way for people to catch up on anything they missed.
