Biography

John Dickerson is Slate magazine’s chief political correspondent and a political analyst for CNN and NPR. He is also author of On Her Trail, a book about his mother, the late Nancy Dickerson, a pioneering newswoman. Prior to joining Slate, Dickerson covered politics for 12 years for Time magazine. His last four years he was the magazine’s White House correspondent, writing extensively on the George W. Bush administration policies and political strategy. Dickerson has interviewed George W. Bush five times since his election in 2000 and co-wrote the Time cover story naming Bush Time's Person of the Year in 2004. Dickerson has also written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Men’s Vogue. He has appeared on numerous TV news and entertainment shows.
