Biography

Morton H. Halperin is the director of U.S. Advocacy at the Open Society Institute and the executive director of the Open Society Policy Center. He is also a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress.

Dr. Halperin's career has included service in the federal government under the Clinton, Nixon, and Johnson administrations. He has worked as a part of the American Civil Liberties Union, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Brookings Institution, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and numerous other think tanks and universities, and was senior vice president of the Century Foundation/Twentieth Century Fund.
