Steve Vogel is a veteran reporter for The Washington Post with long experience covering the U.S. military, including the war in Iraq. His coverage of the war in Afghanistan was part of a package of Washington Post stories selected as a finalist for the 2002 Pulitzer Prize. He covered the September 11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon and subsequently reported on the building’s reconstruction.
