Richard Buxbaum is the Jackson H. Ralston Professor of International Law at the University of California, Berkeley. Previously, he served as UC Berkeley's dean of international and area studies (1993-99). The editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Comparative Law, Mr. Buxbaum is a member of the American Law Institute, the AAAS, and the Council on Foreign Relations. He has been a visiting professor at the universities of Michigan, Cologne, Frankfurt, Sydney and Fordham.
