Biography

Critchlow is the author of more than a dozen books, including The Conservative Ascendancy: How the GOP Right Made Political History (Cambridge, Massachusetts: Harvard University Press, Fall 2008), Phyllis Schlafly and Grassroots Conservatism (Princeton, New Jersey: Princeton University Press, 2005), Intended Consequences: Birth Control, Abortion, and the Federal Government in Modern America (New York: Oxford University Press, 1999); and Studebaker: The Life and Death of an American Corporation (Bloomington, Indiana: Indiana University Press, 1996). He has also co-authored a textbook on American history with Paula Baker and William Rorabaugh, and a five-volume history of the United States published in Warsaw, Poland.
