Biography
Jonathan Cohn is a senior editor at The New Republic, where he has been since 1997 and served for two years as the executive editor. He writes mainly about domestic politics and policy, with a particular focus on issues related to health care and social welfare. He's also a senior fellow at Demos and the author of Sick: The untold story of America's health care crisis - and the people who pay the price.
Prior to coming to TNR Jonathan worked for six years at The American Prospect, where he remains a contributing editor. He has also written for the Boston Globe, Mother Jones, The New York Times, Slate, and The Washington Monthly. From 2002 through 2004, he was a media fellow with the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation.
Jonathan grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and attended Harvard University, where he eventually became president of The Harvard Crimson and a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox.
