Biography
Jeff Bridges is one of Hollywood’s most successful actors and is a four-time Academy
Award nominee. His most recent films include “The Men Who Stare at Goats” and “Iron
Man.”
He earned his first Oscar nod in 1971 for Best Supporting Actor in “The Last
Picture Show” and three years later he received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for
his role in “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.”
By 1984, he landed top kudos with a Best Actor
nomination for “Starman,” which also earned him a Golden Globe nomination. In 2001,
he was honored with another Golden Globe nomination and his fourth Oscar nomination
for his role in “The Contender.” Some of his film credits include “Seabiscuit,” “The
Fabulous Baker Boys,” “Arlington Road,” “The Big Lebowski,” “The Mirror Has Two
Faces,” “Fat City,” “Against All Odds,” “The Door in the Floor” and “American Heart,”
for which he won an IFP Spirit Award for Best Actor.
He also produced the Showtime
movie “Hidden in America” which earned a Golden Globe nomination and two Emmy
Awards. In addition to film, Mr. Bridges is passionate about photography and has
shown in galleries in New York, Los Angeles, London and San Diego and released the
book “Pictures: Photographs by Jeff Bridges.” He has also released an album called “Be
Here Soon.” Mr. Bridges’s upcoming projects include Disney’s “Tron Legacy,” “The
Open Road” and HBO’s “A Dog Year.”
