What is a podcast?

A podcast is a video or audio program that you can subscribe to, like a newspaper or cable channel, so it will be delivered to you. It gets delivered over the internet. They are called "podcasts" because when they first started being published, they were often played only on iPods. Now, you can use a variety of different mobile devices to watch or listen to podcasts, or even just use your computer.

What is RSS?

Think of an RSS feed as a signal for a TV channel. Just like you need an antenna or cable box to catch signals of TV channels to watch on your TV, you need an RSS reader (also called an aggregator), like iTunes, Google Reader, MyYahoo (there are many others) to catch an RSS feed which you can watch or listen to podcasts on your computer, iPod or other device.
