About Me:
At present I teach physical geography at several Los Angeles-area community colleges. I am interested in geomorphology, topographic maps, and all categories of Earth science, including the details of Earth rotation, geomagnetism, thunderstorms, lightning, and flash floods. I enjoy exploring the deserts of North America (the Mojave Desert, the Colorado Plateau, Sonoran Desert, the Great Basin). I have an interest in Southeast Asia in general and Thailand in particular.
In addition to geographic and scientific pursuits, I am interested in politics, particularly the history and background history to CIA and American military actions and covert operations in Latin America, Southeast Asia and beyond. I am unashamedly and unapologetically a member of the political left. Political and historical figures whom I admire include Mohammed Mossadegh, Jacobo Arbenz, Fidel Castro, Malcolm X, Che Guevara, Ho Chi Minh, Carlos Fonseca, Salvador Allende and Rigoberta Menchu.
I am an anarchist.
