San Francisco — Three organizations— MAPS, Opus You, and The Global Commission on Drug Policy—have recently selected FORA.tv to manage a range of production services.

MAPS, which stands for Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, is celebrating 30 years of research and education that have allowed people to benefit from combining therapy with psychedelics and marijuana. With the implementation of a clickable donate button on the live stream via Brightcove technology, MAPS hopes to raise $400,000.

The structured, interactive, musical resource platform Opus You chose FORA.tv to facilitate a live stream that will feature four musical performances at their offices in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Opus You wanted to live stream the event to help spread awareness of their interactive and innovative music education services.

The Global Commission on Drug Policy, GCDP, is hosting a press conference to evaluate the advances discussed during UNGASS, a special session about drug policy reform in 2016. GCDP wanted a convenient way for journalists, civil society organizations, and interested individuals to be a part of the conversation and chose to live stream the event using FORA.tv’s technology.

Black Enterprise also implemented FORA.tv’s Boost campaign to promote engagement around the event on Facebook and Twitter while providing added value to JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s involvement.

Political news publication Politico started a special series dedicated to celebrating the power of women called Women Rule. The organization turned to FORA.tv for the third time to live stream Women Rule: Power and Purpose, which featured prominent women encouraging change in their societies, including former First Lady of the United States Laura Bush.

Salesforce, a leading cloud computing platform headquartered in San Francisco, hosts a series of workshops to help startups build, grow, and give back using Salesforce technology. The company wanted to capture these workshops on video to share with those not able to attend in-person and also to use as promotional material for future workshops. Salesforce will be taking advantage of FORA.tv’s Boost campaign to get the content from the workshops in front of their target audience.

Vulture Magazine, the online entertainment destination from the team behind New York Magazine, turned to FORA.tv for the third year to film and produce Vulture Festival 2016. EXCLUSIVE INTELLIGENCE SQUARED U.S. DEBATE LIVE STREAM: FORA.tv to Broadcast Debate October 7th: “Mass Collection of U.S. Phone Records Violates the Fourth Amendment”

By | Press Release | No Comments

FORA.tv will present a free live stream of an Intelligence Squared U.S. debate that questions whether or not mass collection of U.S. phone records is violation of the Fourth Amendment. Arguing in favor of the motion are Alex Abdo and Elizabeth Wydra, against are Stewart Baker and John Yoo.

WHAT: FORA.tv, the leading online destination for video programs from the world’s best conferences and events, will broadcast the Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2US) Oxford-style debate, “Mass Collection of U.S. Phone Records Violates the Fourth Amendment.”

Some say that mass collection of U.S. phone records is a gross invasion of privacy. Others say that it is necessary to keep us safe. But what does the U.S Constitution say? “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” Is collection of phone records a “search” or “seizure”? If so, is it “unreasonable”? Does it require a particularized warrant and probable cause? These are among the most consequential-and controversial-constitutional questions of our time.

WHEN: Tuesday, October 7th at 6:30 pm EDT

WHERE: The debate will be streamed live at intelligencesquaredus.fora.tv. The debate will be interactive with a Twitter feed following the conversation around the event. Following the live event, FORA.tv will offer the debate as a free on-demand program, and the full video and highlights will be available to share and embed.

EXCLUSIVE INTELLIGENCE SQUARED U.S. DEBATE LIVE STREAM: FORA.tv to Broadcast Debate September 30th: Flexing America’s Muscles in the Middle East Will Make Things Worse

By | Press Release | No Comments

FORA.tv will present a free live stream of an Intelligence Squared U.S. debate that considers what role the United States should play in the Middle East. Arguing in favor of the motion are Aaron David Miller and Paul Pillar, against are Michael Doran and Bret Stephens.

WHAT: FORA.tv, the leading online destination for video programs from the world’s best conferences and events, will broadcast the Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2US) Oxford-style debate, “Flexing America’s Muscles in the Middle East Will Make Things Worse.”

The rise of ISIS, the disintegration of Iraq, Syria’s ongoing civil war, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the promise and peril of the Arab Spring… What role should America play in the Middle East? For some, America’s restraint has been a sign of disciplined leadership. But for others, it has been a sign of diminished strength and influence. How do we strike a balance between our national interests, moral obligations, and the maintenance of world order? Are we simply recognizing the limitations of our power, or does this embattled region require a bolder, more muscular, American presence?

WHEN: Tuesday, September 30th at 6:45 pm EDT

WHERE: The debate will be streamed live at intelligencesquaredus.fora.tv. The debate will be interactive with a Twitter feed following the conversation around the event. Exclusive Intelligence Squared U.S. Debate Live Stream: FORA.tv to Broadcast Debate September 9th: Embrace the Common Core

By | Press Release | No Comments

FORA.tv will present a free live stream of an Intelligence Squared U.S. debate that considers whether or not the Common Core improves the quality of education for students. Arguing in favor of the motion are Carmel Martin and Michael Petrilli, against are Carol Burris and Frederick Hess.

WHAT: FORA.tv, the leading online destination for video programs from the world’s best conferences and events, will broadcast the Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2US) Oxford-style debate, “Embrace the Common Core.”

In K-12 education, there is nothing more controversial than the Common Core State Standards, national academic standards in English and math. Adopted by more than 40 states, they were developed, in part, to address concerns that American students were falling behind their foreign counterparts and graduating high school without the necessary skills for college and the workforce. But is this the reform we’ve been looking for? Has the federal government overreached and saddled our schools with standards that have been flawed from the start? Or will the Common Core raise the bar and improve the quality of our children’s education?

WHEN: Tuesday, September 9th at 6:45 pm EDT

WHERE: The debate will be streamed live at intelligencesquaredus.fora.tv. The debate will be interactive with a Twitter feed following the conversation around the event. Following the live event, FORA.tv will offer the debate as a free on-demand program, and the full video and highlights will be available to share and embed.
