Dustee Jenkins, Vice President, Public Relations for Target demonstrates how to successfully integrate your internet, video and social strategy.
Dustee Jenkins is Vice President of Public Relations within the marketing department at Target. Ms. Jenkins joined Target in 2010. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the creation and execution of Target’s global public relations efforts, including leading the strategic direction and oversight of Target’s media relations agencies.
Under Ms. Jenkins leadership, the retailer has launched numerous successful public relations campaigns, including Missoni for Target, Jason Wu for Target, and the Target/Neiman Marcus partnership.
In addition to managing media relations for Target’s product categories and corporate priorities, Ms. Jenkins also oversees media relations efforts designed to enhance Target’s
reputation as well as select social media initiatives including A Bullseye View, the company’s behind-the-scenes online news magazine.
Prior to joining Target, Ms. Jenkins was a Director at Public Strategies Inc. and served as in-house communications director for Perot Systems (now Dell). In this position, she acted as the spokesperson and Media Director for a $3.2 billion publicly traded information technology company and led the internal and external communications of a multi-million dollar acquisition.
In addition, Ms. Jenkins served as Director of Communications, appointee of President George W. Bush, in the office of public affairs. In this role, she served as a spokesperson for the administration of President George W. Bush, Secretary Alphonso Jackson, assistant secretaries, and other appointees of the President. Prior to joining the Administration, Ms. Jenkins worked on Capitol Hill.
Ms. Jenkins received a B.A. in news journalism from the University of North Texas.
