Daniella Vitale
Daniella Vitale joined Barneys as Chief Merchant and Executive Vice President in December of 2010. In that role, Ms. Vitale oversees e-commerce and e-business strategy as well as women’s merchandising for the brand. She has also played a key role, alongside Mark Lee, in the re-building of Barneys, which was just acquired by Perry Capital.
In July, Ms. Vitale assumed additional responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer, a new position. She now spearheads store operations as well as women’s merchandising and barneys.com as chief merchant of the retailer.
Ms. Vitale moved to New York to study at the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising and then the Fashion Institute of Technology. She began her career in the luxury sector as a Merchandise Manager at Salvatore Ferragamo. From there she joined Giorgio Armani as Vice President of Wholesale in 1994, and then joined Gucci in 1999 in a similar capacity. In 2006, Ms. Vitale was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Gucci America.
Ms. Vitale has also been very active in the philanthropic sector, and received two awards for her charitable contributions: Champion of Children award from LIFT and Women Who Get it Right from NBCCF. Ms. Vitale now sits on the New York Business Advisory Board of UNICEF.
Ms. Vitale resides in Manhattan with her husband and twin sons.
