Viroo is an Industry leader for the Cable Video, IPTV, and related multi-play services space in CME (communications, media and entertainment) consulting practice in the Americas. With 22+ years of Business-consulting & Operations-Services experience, he has been a domain-specific consulting executive working in innovative companies such as Sezmi, BearingPoint, Amdocs, Unisys, USInteractive and KPMG. He currently leads all the thought-leadership oriented consulting services for Cable MSOs and other pay-tv providers and heads the Infosys cable and comm. consulting groups in the Americas. Previously, a Vice-president with P&L responsibilities at Roamware in the mobile financial services, communications and media domain, he had pioneered a release of a global mobile facebook app called 'www.facebook.com/SocialTopUps' to monetize mobile top-up transactions for the immigrant population. As an TV entrepreneur and VP of Service Operations and Customer Experience Engineering @Sezmi, Viroo used to oversee high-quality customer experience operations around Sezmi’s personalized HD TV services, achieved through lean operations delivered via telecom 2.0 technology. He has created a methodology for TVNO/MVNO and implemented the same for 3 global service providers leveraging a combination of eTOM, OMA DM and Virtual Managed Services. Viroo has also written and published papers in Telemanagement forum, WINMEC-UCLA and BillingWorld. Viroo is a graduate in Telecommunications with an MBA from Pennsylvania State University, PA. Viroo has traveled and worked globally with clients worldwide - Japan, Canada, Hongkong, Australia, India, USA and currently lives in Silicon Valley, California.
Will Richmond
Will Richmond is president and founder of Broadband Directions LLC, a market intelligence, publishing and consulting firm specializing in broadband-delivered video, which he established in 2003. Will edits and publishes VideoNuze, a daily online publication widely read by broadband video decision-makers.
Will is a 20-year veteran of the broadband, cable TV, content and technology industries. He is a well-known and acknowledged industry expert whose insights and advice are sought by C-level industry executives, venture capitalists, journalists and others.
Will worked at Continental Cablevision (then the 3rd largest cable operator) from 1990–1998, initially managing large operations in the Boston area, and subsequently as VP Business Development and part of the founding team of Continental's pioneering broadband Internet access service "Highway1". Subsequently he served as VP Business Development for CMGI's iCast and for Narad Networks. He was also the founder of PoliticalWag.com, a popular political discussion/community site.
Will has also created the industry's popular "VideoSchmooze" conferences and has spoken or moderated at numerous industry conferences (e.g. National Cable Show, NATPE, Digital Hollywood, NABShow and others). Will currently serves on the American Public Television's board of trustees and WGBH's board of advisors. Will has a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
