John Carlucci is the Chief Technology Officer at Alticast where he leads product and technology development. John is a technology leader and entrepreneur focusing on digital media and communications including networking, digital multimedia, interactive television, content security, graphics, and grid computing. He contributed to the success of industry stalwarts such as Sony, DiviCom/Harmonic, BigBand Networks and Clearleap. Mr. Carlucci spent half a decade as Chief Network Architect for Time Warner Cable as well as led the engineering department for cable industry joint venture Polycipher as VP of Engineering. His work includes Emmy Award winning industry-leading designs for both Start Over/Network DVR and Switched-digital video. Mr. Carlucci founded social TV pioneer FreedTV, leading development of next generation video user experience. He has been awarded more than 20 U.S patents. He holds a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and a Master's degree in electrical engineer, both from Cornell University College of Engineering.
Will Richmond is president and founder of Broadband Directions LLC, a market intelligence, publishing and consulting firm specializing in broadband-delivered video, which he established in 2003. Will edits and publishes VideoNuze, a daily online publication widely read by broadband video decision-makers.
Will is a 20-year veteran of the broadband, cable TV, content and technology industries. He is a well-known and acknowledged industry expert whose insights and advice are sought by C-level industry executives, venture capitalists, journalists and others.
Will worked at Continental Cablevision (then the 3rd largest cable operator) from 1990â€“1998, initially managing large operations in the Boston area, and subsequently as VP Business Development and part of the founding team of Continental's pioneering broadband Internet access service "Highway1". Subsequently he served as VP Business Development for CMGI's iCast and for Narad Networks. He was also the founder of PoliticalWag.com, a popular political discussion/community site.
Will has also created the industry's popular "VideoSchmooze" conferences and has spoken or moderated at numerous industry conferences (e.g. National Cable Show, NATPE, Digital Hollywood, NABShow and others). Will currently serves on the American Public Television's board of trustees and WGBH's board of advisors. Will has a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
