Vince Giordano is a musician, arranger, and leader of the New York-based Nighthawks Orchestra. Giordano specializes in the jazz styles of the 1920s and early 1930s.
Chappie Willet
Chappie Willet, the subject of a recently completed doctoral dissertation by Graduate Center musicology student John Wriggle, was a celebrated arranger for the likes of Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, and Gene Krupa.
Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks revive Sergei Rachmaninoff's classical piece in this refreshing jazz interpretation. This arrangement was part of Duke Ellington's repertoire and was often played at the famous Cotton Club.
