Jason Baptiste
Jason is currently the CEO and co-founder of Onswipe, a platform for tablet publishing and advertising. In 2011 Jason was named to Businessweek's Top 25 Under 25 entrepreneurs, INC. Magazine's 30 Under 30, and the CEO of one of TIME Inc.'s 10 Best Startups. Jason is currently a professional author of the upcoming book, The Ultralight Startup, being published by Penguin Books. Jason starred in the Bloomberg TV show "Techstars," which chronicled the first six months of OnSwipe's history in the Techstars program.
In his spare time, Jason is an avid runner, blogger, and advisor to other startups such as Ambassador. Jason received a BS from the University of Miami in Computer Information Systems. Jason currently resides in New York City.
Nuri Djavit
Nuri is founding partner and creative director of Last Exit, a New York and London based digital strategy, marketing and design agency whose services include digital research & strategy, creative campaign formulation and management, SEO and analytics, motion graphics for digital delivery, interactive design and technical delivery.
Nuri began his career in product design and established a reputation as an ergonomics and interface design specialist, racking up several patents on behalf of clients such as Bristol-Myers along the way.
Scott Galloway
Scott is the founder of L2, a think tank for digital innovation, and clinical professor of marketing at the NYU Stern School of Business where he teaches brand strategy and digital marketing. Scott is also the founder of Firebrand Partners, an operational activist firm that has invested over $1 billion in U.S. consumer and media companies.
In 1997, he founded Red Envelope, an Internet-based consumer gift retailer (2007 revs, $100mm). In 1992, Scott founded Prophet, a brand strategy consultancy that employs over 250 professionals in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Scott was elected to the World Economic Forum's "Global Leaders of Tomorrow," which recognizes 100 individuals under age 40 "whose accomplishments have had impact on a global level." Scott has served on the board of directors of Eddie Bauer, The New York Times Company, Gateway Computer, and Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
Colin Gilbert
Colin served as the research lead for L2's Prestige 100®: Mobile IQ study. Prior to joining L2, Colin served as a Principal at the Civitas Group in Washington D.C., where he helped lead advisory engagements for a range of clients spanning technology startups, defense contractors, and government agencies. While at Civitas, Colin specialized in matters pertaining to cloud computing, cyber security, and online privacy.
Colin received a B.A. in history from Stanford University and an MPA in public and economic policy from the London School of Economics. While completing his graduate studies abroad, he worked with Accenture to construct case study material demonstrating the versatility of the firm's Public Service Value (PSV) methodology.
MZ Goodman
MZ is executive director in the Product Management group at The New York Times. MZ joined The New York Times in early 2007 to oversee the development and launch of the redesigned T Magazine site and has since expanded her product portfolio to include the organization's editorial products. She oversees product development for The Collection, the Times' iPad app, and The Scoop, the Times' "things to do in New York City" iPhone app.
Before joining the Times, MZ was the VP/director of interactive production at Deutsch, a full-service advertising agency. She managed a group of producers, content managers, Flash developers, and production artists to deliver web sites, promotional mini-sites, integrated CRM programs, and online campaigns. Previously, MZ led large-scale IT consulting and development projects for Sapient and other web development shops in Seattle and New York City.
MZ holds a BS in Journalism from Boston University and began her career in book publishing. As managing editor at Scribner/Simon & Schuster she oversaw the production of the 1997 edition of The Joy of Cooking, among many other titles.
Maureen Mullen
Maureen leads L2's research and advisory group and has bench marked and/or developed digital and social media initiatives for over 300 prestige brands. She began her career at Triage Consulting Group in San Francisco. At Triage, she led several managed care payment review and payment bench- marking projects for hospitals including UCLA Medical Center, UCSF, and HCA. She has gone on to lead research and consulting efforts focused on digital media, private banking, M&A, insurance industry risk management, and renewable energy economics for professional firms and academics. Maureen has a BA in Human Biology from Stanford University and an MBA from NYU Stern.
Simone S. Oliver
Simone is the senior fashion producer for The New York Times, and editor of The Collection, the Times' iPad fashion app. In that role, runs the daily web report and collaborates with editors, reporters, photographers, videographers, designers, developers, and countless freelance contributors to conceptualize and coordinate online and app coverage for the section. She reports and produces original audio and video companions for print stories as well as web-only features. Simone also reports and writes on a range of topics including fashion, fashion + technology, beauty, and social media culture.
Simone has been part of the Times family for over eight years, ascending the ranks from News Assistant at the paper, where she worked various news desks, and as a researcher for the New York Times book development department.
Simone received a BA in English at Howard University. In her spare time, she freelances as a wardrobe consultant and editor, and lives in Brooklyn with her husband.
