Stone has won Oscars for directing "Born On The Fourth Of July" and "Platoon", and for writing "Midnight Express". He was nominated for director (JFK) and co-writer (Nixon). He's also received three Golden Globes for directing ("Platoon", "Born On The Fourth Of July" and "JFK"), one for writing ("Midnight Express").

Stone wrote a novel, published in 1997 by St. Martin's Press, entitled "A Child's Night Dream", based on Stone's experiences as a young man. He is a contributor of some 200 pages of essays on movies, culture, politics and history to the book "Oliver Stone's USA", edited by Robert Brent Toplin and published by the University Press of Kansas (2000). Stone wrote the afterword for a book of scholarly essays analyzing his film "Alexander" called "Oliver Stone's Alexander: Film, History, and Cultural Studies" (2009).

Stone was born September 15, 1946 in New York, New York. Prior to his film career, Stone worked as a schoolteacher in Vietnam, a Merchant Marine sailor, taxi driver, messenger, production assistant, and sales representative. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry in Vietnam in 1967-68. He was wounded twice and decorated with the Bronze Star for Valor. After returning from Vietnam, he completed his undergraduate studies at New York University Film School in 1971.

David Talbot

David Talbot is the founder, former editor-in-chief and current CEO of Salon. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller "Brothers: The Hidden History of the Kennedy Years," and the forthcoming "Season of the Witch: Enchantment, Terror and Deliverance in the City of Love," which will be published by Free Press/Simon & Schuster in spring 2012. Talbot has worked as a senior editor for Mother Jones magazine and has written for numerous publications. He has been hailed as a "web pioneer" by the New York Times and "one of 50 people who matter most in the new media world" by Newsweek.

I always, from a very young age, thought that because Oswald said "I'm just a patsy" that there was more to the perpetration of this criminal treasonous act than just Oswald. I originally thought that the so called mafia was involved because RFK as Attorney General had gone after organized crime when the mafia probably secured the presidency for Kennedy in W. VA by bribing voters. The assassination of the president would be an effective way, to say the least, of getting back and stopping RFK's pursuit for biting the hand that fed him. RFK did stop but was the mafia truly involved in the JFK assisination? I do not know. I need proof and NOT speculation. It has not been until recently that I began to even entertain the thought that the CIA could have been involved. The question still is why. Some possibilities: JFK's rejection of the generals' desire to hit Cuba during the missal crisis. We know now that would have brought nuclear WWIII. The greatest decision of the JFK era was his negotiating a deal with the Soviets in secret while they dismantled nukes in Cuba we, in promised secrecy, took our missals directed at the Soviet Union out of Turkey. The second possibility was JFK's butchering of The Bay of Pigs and third was the possibility that JFK would NOT have pursued Vietnam. Not doing the bidding of the military industrial complex could have sealed JFK's fate. Is this true? I again do not know and say show me the evidence. An indictment SO seriously treasonous MUST have PROOF behind it. Could Obama waxing SO militaristic and so center right metamorphosing his campaign promises of 2008 been honed by Obama's realization that if he wanted another term or a successful presidency had to tow the Pentagon line? Did he come to that realization ESPECIALLY because of his race. Did he feel he was a sitting duck for a coup. This is the stuff of James Bond and I cannot believe such a thing until I there truly is proof. No one will know the minutiae of the Obama presidency until decades after it has ended and, perhaps, we will NEVER know all of it EVER!
