Charles Best founded DonorsChoose.org at Wings Academy, a public high school in the Bronx where he was a social studies teacher for five years.
He thought up DonorsChoose.org during a lunch conversation with colleagues, and his students volunteered to help start the organization. DonorsChoose.org has been growing since.
Charles Porch
Charles Porch manages relationships with socialgood organizations and public figures on Facebook's Consumer Marketing team. In this role, Charles works to help make non-profit organizations and social movements create a successfulpresence on Facebook as well as highlight new and innovative uses of the platform in these verticals.
He led the company's Facebook Live initiatives at the 2011 World Economic Forum, the United Nations Foundation's online forum with Ban Ki-moon and Linkin Park and this year's South by Southwest conference. Most recently, Charles worked to launch Facebook's new resource center for non-profits.
Prior to joining Facebook, Charles worked on the Strategic Relationships team at Ning and began his career at Warner Bros Records, where he helped musicians navigate the world of technology. Charles holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Development from McGill University and lives in San Francisco.
