Peter Vander Auwera
Peter Vander Auwera is currently SWIFT's Innovation Leader. Prior to working at SWIFT, he held several positions at Microsoft, Vintura, CMASS, RINET, EAN International and Colruyt. He lives in Overijse, Belgium with his wife and daughter.
SWIFT is a member-owned cooperative that provides the communications platform, products and services to connect over 8,500 banking organizations, securities institutions and corporate customers in more than 200 countries. SWIFT enables its users to exchange automated, standardized financial information securely and reliably, thereby lowering costs, reducing operational risk and eliminating operational inefficiencies. SWIFT also brings the financial community together to work collaboratively to shape market practice, define standards and debate issues of mutual interest.
Innotribe, a SWIFT initiative, is a set of events, tools and initiatives that enables collaborative innovation in financial services. It provides the infrastructure to find, co-create and invest in new ideas and projects.
Martine de Weirdt
Martine de Weirdt has a linguist background. She started her career working for the press. She joined SWIFT's education department in 1986 before moving to Standards where she headed the department for several years. There she created the Standards Forum, a yearly event critically recognized for its ability to bring together standardisers and business people.
Her other career moves included management positions in Human Resources, Corporate Communications, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), Head of Coexistence and more recently, Innovation. Throughout her career Martine has been involved in industry projects such as Y2K, the introduction of the Euro, SEPA, etc. and has gained deep knowledge of the company with management positions in different departments. In Innovation, she looks more specifically into non-technology issues such as diversity, corporate culture and Banks for a better World.
