Rightwing Patriot, one can definitely argue that the language used by Shakespeare is not current or modern, but it stands as written in its original language. The King James Bible having been translated from multiple translations is fine as an artifact of its day and important in the English speaking world's understanding of the text, but it's not the only English version that exists today, and I would welcome a new version that is drawn from texts closer to the source material. The meaningfulness of the Holy Bible makes it important to understand its long journey to the flowery, Victorian prose of the KJV.

Cemab4y makes a statement that is not true. Would Shakespeare be out of date? Then why do students still read this great writings. It's only out of date because the Holy Bible means nothing to you.

The King James Translation is obsolete. Dead as a dodo. The English prose is 400 years out of date. Our understanding of Koina Greek has advanced in the intervening years. Better manuscripts have been located since. The King James translation needs to go out with the slide rule, and the computer punch-card. Obsolete.
