Interesting Facts about Mark Ruffalo
- In 2002, Mark was prompted by a vivid dream in which he had a tumor, to go to the doctor. He was then diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. After it was removed, he suffered from partial facial paralysis, but has since recovered.
- He was supposed to appear in the M. Night Shyamalan’s movie Signs, but was forced to drop out because of his tumor.
- He attended the prestigious Stella Adler Conservatory in Los Angeles. He has said that attending classes there gave his life purpose.
- Mark has said that he went on about 800 auditions and landed only 30 roles.
- His breakthrough part came in 1998 in the New York stage production of This Is Our Youth.
- He has said that doing romantic comedies may have made him more of a man.
- In 2006, he made his Broadway debut was in the revival of Awake and Sing! He was nominated for a Tony Award for his role
- Mark made his directorial debut in 2009 with the film Sympathy for Delicious, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The movie won the Special Jury Prize.
- He has been compared to a young Marlon Brando.
- Mark is very outspoken on his position towards hydraulic fracturing, appearing on multiple talk shows to speak against the practice.
