NAWAL EL SAADAWI: you see that Mubarak, even in his speech, in his speech yesterday or the day before, he said, you know, "I don’t accept any external interference, foreign interference, in our lives." This is—everybody was laughing at Tahrir Square, because he was submitting to the U.S. orders, even to Israeli orders, all the time, all the time. And now, when they said that he should leave power or, you know, reply to the demands of the millions, he started to be against and say, "I do not accept U.S.—I do not accept foreign interference." He didn’t say American.

Anyway, the people in Tahrir Square, the millions of men and women who made the revolution and who are continuing the revolution, they know what the United States did to us, since Sadat. Sadat and the U.S. ruined the economy of Egypt. They ruined our dignity by aid, American aid. And we said, from the beginning, "We don’t accept American aid. We need free trade, and not aid." They brought the fundamentalists, because usually I say bin Laden and George Bush are twins. Sadat and Mubarak and America and Israel are—encourage the most fanatic Islamic and Christian and Jewish fundamentalism to divide us, to fight against socialists and feminists. So we are aware of U.S. role in Egypt, U.S. government, since Reagan, since all of George Bush and Obama. They ruined our economy. And they gave us aid, so-called aid, which went to the pockets of regime people, men and women, and to the U.S. again. So we are not—we were not deceived by what America, U.S. government did to us.

And what we say to U.S. government: keep away from Egypt. Keep away. End American neocolonialism. End your 100 percent support to Israelis killing the Palestinians. End your false democracy. End your hypocrisy. Now they are confused, but we are fed up with neocolonialism and interference in our affairs. Now Egypt is a new Egypt, independent Egypt, dignified Egypt, not accepting aid. We are going to depend on our production, agricultural production, industrial production. We are regaining our dignity and freedom and justice.

There is the show, and then there is what really is going on.

The show is American help money being sent to Egypt. What really is going on is double strategy that only benefits the industrial military complex. The money comes back from Egypt for the acquisition of armaments, and thereby fostering armed conflict in the Middle East. This is with the endorsement of the White House and of Congress to invest tax payer money into perpetuating war. The American people did not vote for on-going armed conflict and for the murder of citizens of any country! This transfer of tax payer money into war machines is an undemocratic, even evil, situation. It is a reminder of the political might of the industrial military complex which, through the ages, have fostered war as a means to transfer wealth into the richest pockets of the world.

The dissonance between the will of the people and what their government is doing is great both in Egypt and in America. Heads up! I feel change blowing in the wind…

How does one talk about 30 years of torture 30 years of terror, what on earth is their to talk about with the people who have inflicted pain for 30 years. if 60% of the population is under 30 years old then all they have known is Mubarak torture and terror. nothing to talk about, time to throw all of the torture regime OUT^ and start afresh. Saudi Arabia tortures women, so your going to ask another torturer, seems I am right Communism is on the rise not democracy. I am an old JEW and parents Nazi camp survivors, My love for Egypt is Historical without Egypt we Jews would not have MOSES, and no old testament, no Bible!. Israel needs to make new friends, Israel needs to remember that 65 years ago we Jews were being killed by Hitler just like Mubarak is killing his own.

Thank You ForaTV, FOR the opposition to pick leaders is wrong because by picking leaders you give Mubarak a target to shoot at, this what He wants someone to shoot and use as a excuse for the foreign media and protests a scape goat. The Military is the Trojan Horse pretend to be on the people´s side and let the horses, camels, swords, pipes and other weapons, military let the criminals through to beat on the people. Mubarak like Hitler-Stalin before him, use prisoners unemployed and plain clothes Police to beat, injure and kill the people. This Trojan Horse is as old as the Greeks. Now Mubarak has been given support from Communist China and Russia, >Mubarak and his two partners were educated in Moscow at the height of SovietRegime, all their military training came from Soviet Air Force and KGB. Mubarak´s VP was a KGB STUDENT and is the intelligence officer, for him to be VP, this is like putting the head of the SS Gestapo, head torturer,as the3 president. THIS IS SICK. Prior to 1989 Mubarak perfect Russian sided very much with communist Soviets, after the Berlin Wall fell Mubarak flipped over, bought by the Americans. As of Now Communist China recently at the White House put a dog leash on OBAMA THE communist instructions are say anything, show sympathy, show kindness to protesters BUT DO NOTHING, all talk but do nothing, this is Obamas orders from Communist China. Italian PM, a few hours ago said that He PM of Italia speaks for the west, says Mubarak is a WISE MAN, supporting the 30 year terror regime. When the USA wants to torture they take their victims to Egypt to be tortured, Egypt has no torture laws everything goes like Sadam of Iraq, Mubarak and his two henchmen are expert toturers, learned from the best KGB! So in the end it is brown people killing other brown people so white people can make money, yes profits before people. USA now takes orders from Communist China, China in the back rooms is pulling the strings. BREAD LINES ALL OVER EGYPT ALL THE PROTESTERS ARE THIN PEOPLE Mubarak and his ministers never missed a meal. 60% of the Egyptian population is under 30 years old no job, no inter.net no life in the street. THIS IS A YOUTH REVOLUTION YOUR SPEAKERS ARE FAT CATS WHO REALLY DO NOT KNOW SUFFERING.

Egypt is a big country. Its not like Nauru kind of countries. They can manage themselves. Still Mubarak has been getting $1.3 billion per year, like clockwork, since the beginning of his regime. So that’s about $40 billion. Thats a huge amount of money. Its just from US aid.
So why these people are gathering in Tahrir square?

You cannot ensure peace and stability using guns. Sadly this is what US and Israel is doing all over the world. US tax payers should understand this.

50% of the US tax money goes to military industrial complex. Its product is for destruction. Actually there is no country is causing a threat to USA. They are creating enemies by themselves. If those money spend on clean energy such as solar wind, it will generate huge job opportunities American people. And it will free Americans from foreign energy source.

US citizens should take advantage of this situation to better utilization of tax money in more constructive ways.

While I agree with your intent, to say the money is just recycled is a gross simplification. That money most certainly does go to Egypt. That money ensures stability in the Middle East, purchase of armaments as you have said, which in turn ensures stability of oil supply, the U.S. Navy I believe I saw gets expedited processing through the Suez Canal, etc etc. Again, I agree with you that this is a military industrial complex relationship but to say it ends essentially that it is 'just profit' really simplifies all the upsides and downfalls that such a relationship can and do have.

Regarding the US aid

There was a question about US aid to Egypt. But nobody is following the money.

Actually that money doesn’t necessarily go to Egypt. It goes to U.S. military contractors. It’s a form of corporate welfare for companies like Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics, because it goes to Egypt, then it comes back for F-16 aircraft, for M1 tanks, for aircraft engines, for all kinds of missiles, for guns, for tear gas canisters.

Lockheed Martin has been the leader in deals worth $3.8 billion over that period of the last 10 years; General Dynamics, $2.5 billion for tanks; Boeing, $1.7 billion for missiles, for helicopters; Raytheon for all manner of missiles for the armed forces. So, basically, this is a key element in propping up the regime, but a lot of the money, Its basically recycled. Taxpayers could just as easily be giving it directly to Lockheed Martin or General Dynamics.
