Karen Armstrong, as usual, brings incredible insight into the human condition. There is such a sense of solace in her beliefs, contrary to the ideology, rigidity and self righteousness so prevalent and dangerous in our contemporary society.

Very Good. I have long been a follower of Karen Armstrong and think her work has done a great service in connecting the shared narratives of most religious systems. I could not agree more with her call for compassion and, too, with the inherent challenge in truly loving the stranger. What I have often thought is that the longest journey is the one from the mind to the heart. Which is to say, we can all intellectualize, and even emotionalize, the need for loving the other as ourselves, but do live this way, well, that, as Ms. Armstrong suggests, is a life's work.
