Ambassador Heinrich Kreft

Heinrich Kreft is a career diplomat, currently serving as special representative for dialogue among civilizations at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. Prior to this, he was senior foreign policy advisor to the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag. From 2004 to 2006 he was senior strategic analyst and deputy head of the Policy Planning Staff of the German Foreign Ministry in Berlin.

Dr. Kreft served as a member of the Foreign Policy Planning Staff in charge of the Americas, Asia and Economic Issues; and as a visiting fellow at The Henry L Stimson Center, the Heritage Foundation, and the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Munster.
