Dude, welcome to the internet. you must be from a different planet if you ACTUALLY think people pay money to listen to dry lectures. The only benefit that this website has is that people like myself, who are interested in things they are not taking in university, have the opportunity to expand their horizons with ideas and concept they had not considered. think about why wikipedia is so great.
Moreover can you imagine a better way to bastardize the noble cause of public education than to hoard the best information in Premium sections of free websites? you might as well post these videos with no sound and expect people to learn to read lips in order to extract the information; i'll bet that you'd get as much viewership. As this rant has become long winded i will close with this: You're an idiot of the highest order and you do not understand what makes the internet great.

On his talk about the multiverse and multi-bigbang ideas:

I was glad to see that he gave warnings about the highly speculative nature of these ideas. I've heard too many atheists tout these ideas as reason to not have the need for a beginner of the universe. Based on my current understanding of what is scientifically known about our universe all the empirical evidence points to the need for a cause that is outside our space dimensions and laws of physics; in other words supernatural.

There are many ideas on which I concur with the presenter :

1) upcoming bio-error or bio-terror. Bio-synthesizers are already available on the market and almost affordable for any geek curious of bio-programming. So, just like a knife is a tool that can be turned into a weapon, it seems a very obvious or "natural" development of events that misuse of the tool shall happen with dramatic consequences.

2) the idea of a post-human society using technology to reach beyond human limitations.

3) the speed (and acceleration) of technology development. We cure cancers (though not all), have cloud-computing, we can access in seconds or in minutes almost any piece of knowledge about any subject even the most highly technical ones and translate it automatically (if necessary)... All these things would have seemed crazy just 1 generation ago.

I quite disagree, though, on one of the last subjects mentioned : privacy. It is a vast subject to discuss (too vast for here at least) but we have already seen some major uprise of online-services-users when corporations tried to trample their privacy.

I couldn't disagree more with the people posting here. Thank you Fora.tv for providing very interesting presentations, which would otherwise be difficult to find. The paid option is a bit steep for some, but you have expenses and those that can support, will. For cheapskates like me, play the ads; I'm OK if it helps pay the bills.

And folks, enjoy the fact that you have access to quality presentations. Like you might support quality TV on PBS, consider supporting Fora for it's good work as well. Otherwise, we'll all go the route of pablum TV that is meaningless and droll.

I agree with you on the bait and switch summation.

Fora, you need to do something about this or you WILL lose a lot of viewership, I already watch fora less, and you only had the "premium" for a short time period.
