Marisa Peacock
Marisa Peacock helps schools and small businesses enhance their online presence.
For a number of years, she has worked for non-profits, independent schools and small businesses, managing and producing websites, multimedia, and online content. While the goals and objectives may differ across these industries, she found a few similarities -- they were understaffed, underfunded and trying to keep up with an ever-evolving media. From online publishing to social media to mobile to multimedia, it’s hard to know exactly what to do and how to do it.
Marisa helps organizations create and implement online strategies that appropriately target the right audience with the right information using the right media. She has presented at numerous conferences, including the Baltimore Design Conference and EdSocial Media Summit and hosted webinars aimed at promoting social media integration and web design strategies.
She received her Bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) from Georgetown University. She lives in Arlington, VA with her boyfriend and Pit Bull, Sampson.
Benjamin Stein
Ben Stein is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Mobile Commons, where he is responsible for product development, system architecture, and technical operations. He is one of the leading pioneers shaping how nonprofit organizations successfully use mobile communication for advocacy, fundraising, list building, and organizing.
Ben has 15 years of experience building Internet applications of all shapes and sizes. He spent much of his career building distributed software for B2B customers. With a background in both the financial and medical industries, he has extensive experience with high availability systems with a focus on security and data sensitivity. As a software engineer at Bloomberg LP, Ben developed their trading system, search engine, and web services. After Bloomberg, he worked at ShadowTV, transcoding, indexing and streaming 100s of terabytes of video data for government and corporate customers.
Ben earned a BS in electrical and biological engineering and a Master’s in medical image processing, both at Cornell University. After completing his studies, he took a position as a Visiting Scientist, developing medical software used in clinical trials for lung cancer screening and image analysis tools used in General Electric’s CT scanners.
Ben lives on a small urban farm in Brooklyn with his wife Arin and he can usually be found coding, biking, or rock climbing.
Line Storgaard-Conley
Line Storgaard-Conley is responsible for developing and managing Safe Kids comprehensive online strategy, including internal and external promotion, content creation, design development and implementation, and on-line partnership building.
She works across the organization assisting and advising departments how best to utilize the Web site and the internet to reach their goals and carry out Safe Kids' mission.
Prior to working for Safe Kids Line worked for the Survey Action Center as their Web Manager, as an online strategy consultant and as a policy analyst for the Department of the Interior. She served as a Presidential Management Fellow from 1998 - 2000.
She holds a Master's of Public Administration from Southern Illinois University and several certificates in Web development, web usability and online marketing.
