Michael A. Bassik
Senior Vice President Michael A. Bassik manages Global Strategy Group's digital practice, delivering winning interactive marketing strategies to GSG's political, non-profit and corporate clients. A frequent lecturer on emerging political trends, Michael is the recipient of the first-ever joint award for Excellence in Digital Media from Yahoo! and the American Association of Political Consultants and has won over 90 industry awards on behalf of clients including Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee, Defenders of Wildlife, Media Matters for America and the United Nations Foundation. Michael graduated cum laude from both The University of Pennsylvania and American University's Washington College of Law.
Allison Fine
Allison Fine's work at Demos focuses on unleashing broad participation in our democracy. Her first book, Momentum: Igniting Social Change in the Connected Age, was published in Fall 2006 by Wiley & Sons. Allison's writing focuses on the use of social media, interactive digital tools, for positive social change.
She is a frequent speaker and commentator and has been published in the Chronicle of Philanthropy, Foundation News & Commentary, been quoted in the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, National Public Radio.
Allison was the Founder of Innovation Network, Inc. (InnoNet) and served as Executive Director and President from 1992-2004. InnoNet is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping nonprofits better plan and evaluate their services and programs. Allison served as the C.E.O. of The E-Volve Foundation in 2004-2005. The mission of E-Volve is to support and promote open source technology efforts aimed at increasing citizen participation. Efforts including online voter registration websites and virtual phone banks.
Howard Greenstein
Howard Greenstein is a Social Media Strategist and Evangelist, and President of the Harbrooke Group. He has been involved in cutting edge technology applications including online communities and streaming media for over fifteen years. Howard Greenstein's years of experience in the technology world, combined with his background as an executive coach, help him bridge the gap between business needs and technology requirements, allowing him to facilitate difficult business conversations and focus on the required results of any project.
His nearly 20 years in the tech world include a role as Technical Evangelist for Microsoft's Developer Relations team, where he helped gain acceptance and adoption of Internet Explorer and Windows Media. For J.P. Morgan he helped deploy such futuristic projects as desktop video conferencing, online collaborative tools and the World Wide Web in 1993-95. He has had roles in several NY startups, and has been an administrator and lecturer at NYU.
As a networker and connector, he is the only person to have been elected to the Board of Directors of three major New York technology trade organizations: New York Software Industry Association (NYSIA), NYNMA, and the World Wide Web Artist’s Consortium (WWWAC).
Geoff Livingston
Geoff Livingston runs sales and marketing for Zoetica and provides research and strategy services. He has worked as a public relations strategist in the Washington, D.C. region for more than 16 years.
Dubbed a "local blogging guru" by the Washington Post, Geoff's award-winning book on new media Now is Gone was released in 2007. He continues to blog about nonprofit use of social media for Mashable, and on environmental issues for Live Earth.
He sold his social media boutique Livingston Communications to CRT/tanaka in April of 2009. Some of his professional experiences include United Way of America, Save Darfur, the Goodwill of Greater Washington, Environmental Defense Fund, Live Earth, ChildFund International, the Campus Kitchens Project, the Philanthropy 2.0 Project, Network Solutions, Sully Erna (Godsmack lead singer), and many others.
