Responding to critics who have called his America Alone "alarmist," Steyn defends the tone and central premise of his book. "This book is about...the larger forces at play in the developed world that have left Europe too enfeebled to resist its remorseless transformation into Eurabia and that call into question the future of much of the rest of the world, including the United States, Canada, and beyond."
According to Steyn, these forces include demographic decline in Europe, the unsustainability of the advanced Western social-democratic state, and civilizational exhaustion. Finally, in the face of these forces, Steyn offers what he believes America must do.

The Great values of the west from freedom, liberty, and dignity of the humankind are all Islamic values which present Muslims countries do not practice or respect. The Old Muslims have failed Islam, so the Western Muslims will succeed in bring the true face of Islam.
Islam is a way of life, system of values, & guide lines to the relations with God, one self, other human being, other creations, & the rest of the universe.
In some aspect ( Human rights , political freedoms, rule of the law, free thinking, justice, & equal opportunity) the best Islamic countries are Canada, US, UK, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, France, Spain, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, New Zealand & Finally Malaysia.
These countries practice the spirit of Islamic teaching more than the rest of the world, even though their populations are not mostly Muslims.
So what happened to Muslims? What golden age are you talking about? What did Muslims have contributed to the world? The fact is that wherever Islam went it inflicted barbarity and ignorance. Muslims destroyed great civilizations of ancient Egypt, Persia, Iraq etc.
Cairo and Baghdad were great centers of knowledge - so what happened? Where is that knowledge? What great scientific achievements were accomplished by Muslims? Are there any great books written by Muslims? Any great writers in last one thousand years? In last 1000 years, Muslims have not contributed anything in the fields of science, technology, arts and literature.
If human rights and democracy are Islamic values, why are Muslim countries not democratic? Why there is no freedom of religion in Muslim countries?
Old Muslims have not failed Islam - it is Islam which has failed. It is due to Islam that Muslim majority countries are the most backward. Islam is akin to Fascism. Islam divides the world in believers and kaffirs. Islam sows discord.
The countries which you listed are not Islamic. That's the reason there is freedom of religion, human rights and democracy. Islam will ruin all those countries. I think you should reject Islam and join us in fighting the evil of Islam.
Regardless of your desire to associate Islam as a religion of peace, there is a very strong presence in the world today pressing the (pay attention to my words) regression of free speech. "Moderate, peaceful" Muslims are attempting to introduce actual legislation in some countries to ban offensive speech against their religion. Riddle me this, how is that not forcing your opinions upon others, and attempting to silence others opinions? Tuesday of this week, Muslims attacked the Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks during a presentation he was giving because it offended them. Might want to add that firebombs were found in his household, and this took place in a non-Muslim country. I do not think Mark's comments were against Islam as you would love to attempt to convince people, but against the very present and ever-increasing threat to free speech that is wrapped in an Islamic flag.

KMA you should read some real history rather than just browse Islamic propaganda sites. The Sword of the Prophet (The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam) by Serge Trifkovic (preface by former Canadian ambassador) is a good read. The idea that Islamic empires were tolerant of Jews and Christians is a myth as is the idea that Baghdad and Cairo were centers for discovery. They were centers for learning for a brief time but it was mostly the learning of other absorbed cultures. Few new ideas came from the Islamic empires. And freedom ? ... you've got to be kidding. In a culture that even today kills apostates there is too much of an intellectual chill to develop new ideas.
I think not. Comedy Central censored South Park because the West does not have the will to defend itself. Muslim violence exists because they know their enemy and how to defeat it. Colonel Ghadaffi told us more than 30 years ago that Europe would be taken without the need to fire guns.....tho thats not to say guns wouldn't be fired anyway. As a Muslim Libertarian (is that an oxy moron ), I cringe and cheer at Mark Steyn.
I agree with pretty much everything he says about the Western World and its problems.
Yet he focuses way too much on the Muslim threat... instead of the failings of the Western world.
The problem is not Muslims arriving, but 'western' people forgetting who they are.
That is where the focus should be. You could stop all Muslim immigration, and South Park would still sensor things because our culture is about political correctness.
