Interesting Facts about Ben Stiller
- His parents are famous comedians and actors Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.
- He enrolled at UCLA for film school, but left after nine months to pursue acting.
- In 1989, Ben was a writer and featured performer on Saturday Night Live, but left after only five episodes because the show did not want him to make more short films.
- He won an Emmy for his show The Ben Stiller Show.
- Ben is an admitted Trekkie, and his production company, Red Hour Productions, is a reference to a Star Trek episode.
- He has cited comedians Robert Klein, George Carlin, and Jimmie Walker as inspirations.
- He is married to actress Christine Taylor, who has appeared in multiple movies with him, including Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Tropic Thunder, and Zoolander.
- Ben is a member of the “Frat Pack”, a group of actors including Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Paul Rudd, Luke Wilson, and Owen Wilson that have worked together in multiple films.
- He founded the Stiller Foundation in 2010. The Foundation’s mission is to promote the education and well-being of children worldwide through initiatives that focus on education.
- In 2009 he received the MTV Generation Award. It is the top honor of the MTV Movie Awards.
