it is quite possible that is a question of logic. however how to change your own set of logic is quite complicated to explain as for you to understand a new way of reasoning the old system of reasoning will have to die. nature does provide a device. (the unexpected) to be clear the world demands a different thinking forget all you have learn up to now and build a new book of knowledge. this does not mean the old one is obsolete. the old one demands a different angle of perception. the ? is to obtain that angle of perception. I feel is by combining 3 forms. one is inside of you "objective", the other moves and relates to the object, "subjective" and the 3 one relates to the whole. but it is actually a 4 form of perception. therefore we got 3 objects but in fact we have 4. when they link you are there. as the 4 one is the relation between 2 and 3 on a line reality and a picture of reality that shows you what is real while the perceived reality is distorted..

I agree with Dnyso, but I'd expand his/her idea to say that the key issue will be the willingness of US creditors to keep accepting US IOUs (US dollars and US Treasury bonds). The US government will be running trillion $ deficits for several years. What happens when the US' creditors come to the conclusion that the US' debts exceed the US' ability to ever pay those debts by providing real economic value rather than more fiat currency? I suspect that the US' creditors' willingness to accept IOUs will end before the US' need offer those IOUs.
In the case of China, a decline of 10% in the US$ would result in a loss of $100+ billion on their holdings of US Treasuries and US GSE bonds. That's a lot of loss for them to accept on their vendor-financing scheme. China will likely become more assertive in the near future and a weaker US will help them do so. It might be to their geo-stragegic advantage, at that time, to sell their US bonds and thereby drive the US interest rates up and the US economy down.

My big concern is that the problem was caused by the Chimerica arrangement. The solution seems to have been to put this system in overdrive. Whatever else happens this issue will dominate the outcome of our present period.

Of one thing I am sure though: We are not so much witnessing a recovery as a suspended collapse. Nobody breathe...
