Why should the global warming facts cherry-picked by this “viscount … politician, business consultant, policy adviser, writer, columnist, inventor and hereditary peer” be more relevant than the facts pointed to by the overwhelming majority of people who have spent their lives studying the problem?

This guy hasn’t got what even Bjorn Lomborg has explicitly admitted: ‘Global warming is real, it is man-made, it is a problem,’ ‘Unfortunately, we only have virtually one solution: cut carbon emissions dramatically, right now[,’ Bjørn Lomborg, on 15 December 2009, at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark

Eh? ...that counters the cause of the emails? That's gibberish!

Only 3 emails from the thousands stolen are being quoted exensively out of context.

And the "hockey stick" graph has not been refuted ... I note you do not supply any reference or link to further information ... your assertions cannot be taken at face value alone.

You've misread my post. The fraudulent hockey stick graph comment wasn't tied to the comment about the hacked computers in East Anglia. Two different events. What the emails show us btw, in detail, was that there was collusion and conspiracy to suppress information that counters their cause. And yes, I do mean 'cause'.

It's interesting to read some of the comments in this thread that are pro-global warming. It's interesting considering that the "hockey stick graph" (different one that Lord Monckton was talking about) based on evidence as flimsy as counting and measuring tree rings, has been proved to be statistically fraudulent, and in light of the recent email correspondence "hacked" from a British university showing conspiracy to defraud.

Yes, I find this interesting indeed.

But, hang on, doesn't Monckton get paid for making speeches against climate change? I am sure he makes a tidy profit. Wouldn't you say he has a vested interest in keeping up his rolling farce?
