I think that was essentially what he was saying, about the human face preventing us from solving the problem; the "human-face" we have applied to capitalism desensitizes us to what is 'good' in the long run as an appeal to pathos and making us feel satisfied believing we have done good through charity.

I'm with Zizek. Only a radical paradigm shift in global human thought can move beyond this broken system. I think it takes courage to even attempt the subtle analysis that Zizek pulls off here--the deeper assumptions and shared myths that go into every move we make. Nothing but respect, Slavoj.

Zizek is always talking about 'what ever' 'with a human-face' as if 'with a human face' is the ideal of the goodness in what ever system.
I would like for him to devine this 'human-face' he talks about so often.
I think that the 'human-face' to a system is not the cure, on the contrary.

Soros is this guys "good guy?" Wow. What a fool.

Now to the point of his talk. The thought that charity is foolish, is quite foolish. Jesus states "The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me." His goal is wrong the goal should be to lift the poor up to the point where being poor isn't bad. For instance the poor in America are much better off then the poor in the average country in Africa. Why? Its because the lowest paying jobs in America often pay so much more that they would be rich in Africa countries. So then the solution is to raise up the whole Rich, Middle, and poor. To try to remove the poor will continuously drain the economic system of money when it should instead be put into the system to try and raise everyone as a whole. This is not to say there shouldn't be safety nets, its to say that those nets should come with fairly large holes, which is to say ways back into work, less those saved end up ensnared.

I really wonder whether we able to see equality in society despite policies/governance/democracies and off course charities.

The situation which produced it, is unchangeable. There will be always wealthy and poor, as it was even in the communistic societies. What is bad then to provide people an illusion to be good by helping the poor with bying a cup of coffe?
