Tavis Smiley
Tavis Smiley is a broadcaster, author, advocate and philanthropist. TIME Magazine honored Smiley in 2009 as one of "The World's 100 Most Influential People." He is currently the host of the late night television talk show, "Tavis Smiley" on PBS and "The Tavis Smiley Show" distributed by Public Radio International (PRI). In 2007, Smiley made television history as the moderator and executive producer of the All-American Presidential Forums on PBS, the first Democratic and Republican presidential debates broadcast live in primetime with a panel exclusively comprised of journalists of color.
In addition to his radio andtelevision work, Smiley has authored fourteen books. His memoir, What I Know For Sure: My Story of Growing Up in America, was a New York Times bestseller.
His latest book, Accountable: Making America As Good As its Promise, addresses how our political leaders, corporations and finally, American citizens themselves can enforce accountability and effect change.
The Tavis Smiley Foundation, a non-profit organization, was established to provide leadership training and development for youth. Since its inception, more than 6,000 young people have participated in the foundation's Youth to Leaders training workshops and conferences.
Cornel West
Cornel West is a philosopher, author, critic, and civil rights activist. His works include The Ethical Dimensions of Marxist Thought, Race Matters, and The African-American Century: How Black Americans Have Shaped Our Century.
U.S. political and social movement aimed at developing economic power and community and ethnic pride among African Americans. It was proclaimed by Marcus Garvey in the early 20th century, when many U.S. black nationalists hoped for the eventual creation of a separate black nation in Africa. In the 1960s and '70s, Elijah Muhammad and Malcolm X preached the ideal of black nationalism as an alternative to assimilation into the predominantly white culture of the U.S.
At around 15 mins in he mentions the "clerk" winning the Nobel Peace Prize with disdain... am I wrong or is he referring to Einstein? Is this because Einstein contributed to nuclear weaponry? Isn't that incredibly ignorant?
He is referring to Frederik Willem de Klerk, who was awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 1993, along with Nelson Mandela. Google is your friend!

I would like to see Dr. West earn himself a Nobel Peace Prize sometime before he leaves earth. If there is any intellectual scholar in the world right now who is arguably the most overdue for one, I has to be this man. Godspeed Brother West.

I think MLK, Jr. would be wondering why essentially no media sources, churches and universities have ever addressed the PAROS treaty proposed by 160 nations or the military templates about full spectrum dominance that our DoD’s Joint Forces creates. Our National Space Policy doctrine states we can collect any data we want in space and deter those who oppose this. This means we can spy on and intercept data from any other country, and if someone goes against our nations interests we can attack them.
