In this discussion from the Adelaide Festival of Ideas we find out more about some of the most important issues of our time; sex, knowledge and society.

Tracing the history of the traditionally male-dominated disciplines of philosophy and science, the panelists discuss how we might alter the ways we think about gender and culture in the sciences and institutions.

Natasha Mitchell is a science broadcaster and presenter of ABC Radio National's "All in the Mind."

Simon Blackburn is a Professor of Philosophy at Cambridge University. He has written a number of books including Truth: A Guide For The Perplexed and Lust.

Karen Green is the Associate Professor of Philosophy at Monash University. She is the author of A History of Women's Political Thought in Europe, among other titles about women and politics and philosophy.

Londa Schiebinger is a Professor of the History of Science at Stanford University. She has also written and co-written several books including Agnotology: The Making and Unmaking of Ignorance, The Mind Has No Sex? Women in the Origins of Modern Science and Gendered Innovations in Science and Engineering.

Simon Blackburn is a Professor of Philosophy at Cambridge University.

He has written a number of books including Truth: A Guide For The Perplexed and Lust.

Karen Green

Karen Green is the Associate Professor of Philosophy at Monash University.

She is the author of A History of Women's Political Thought in Europe, among other titles about women and politics and philosophy.

Natasha Mitchell

Natasha Mitchell is a science broadcaster and presenter of ABC Radio National's "All in the Mind." As host of "All In The Mind" she reaches a wide international audience on ABC Radio National and Radio Australia.

Mitchell graduated from Monash University with a first class honours degree in engineering and partway through a PhD in materials engineering.

Londa Schiebinger

Londa Schiebinger is a Professor of the History of Science at Stanford University. She has written and co-written several books including Agnotology: The Making and Unmaking of Ignorance, The Mind Has No Sex? Women in the Origins of Modern Science and Gendered Innovations in Science and Engineering.
