Jerry Greenfield - Jerry Greenfield is a co-founder of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Holdings, Inc.
Throughout his childhood, Greenfield lived in Merrick, on Long Island. In 1969, he enrolled at Oberlin College, where he followed a pre-med curriculum before graduating in 1973. He applied unsuccessfully for medical-school in two successive years, 1973 and 1974.
In 1978 Greenfield and his friend Ben Cohen opened Ben and Jerry's Homemade ice cream scoop shop in an old gas station in downtown Burlington, Vermont. The company has since opened almost 200 franchised shops and reports earnings of $237 million annually.
Julius Walls Jr. - Julius Walls, Jr. is the president and CEO of the Greyston Bakery and the Senior Vice President for Business for the Greyston Foundation. The Greyston Bakery, a $7 million for-profit enterprise owned by the non-profit Greyston Foundation, has been producing the finest brownies, cakes and tarts for over twenty-five years.
Walls is also an adjunct professor at the business graduate schools of Stern at NYU and Bainbridge Graduate Institute in Seattle teaching social enterprise and Social Justice & Business respectively and the co-author of MISSION, INC., The Practitioners Guide to Social Enterprise, 2008. Julius serves as an invited participant in the John F. Kennedy School of Government's Executive Session on Transforming Cities through Civic Entrepreneurs at Harvard University for 2008/2009.
