David Malouf - David George Joseph Malouf (born 20 March 1934) is an acclaimed Australian writer. He was awarded the Neustadt International Prize for Literature in 2000, and his 1993 novel, Remembering Babylon won the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award (1996), and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize.
It's been a long time between novels for David Malouf. His most recent, Ransom, is the first published in more than a decade, and retells the story of Homer's Iliad. In this talk at the Stanton Library, Malouf reflects on the themes of his novel, storytelling, legend and memory.
David Malouf has written numerous novels, including An Imaginary Life and Remembering Babylon. He has been awarded several major Australian and international literary prizes, including the Miles Franklin Award and the Dublin Literary Award.
