Bio
David Jacobs
David S. Jacobs started Silverstone Solutions, Inc. in 2006 as a result of his extensive experience in the software industry and his more recent experience as a medical patient.
Mr. Jacobs is a seasoned technology veteran with an exemplary track record of building fledging start-ups into successful global corporations. As a sales, marketing and business development executive, his ability to identify and capitalize on emerging markets is clearly established by a 25-year career building sales organizations for start-up companies that evolved into publicly traded corporations such as Microsoft, Marimba (now acquired by BMC Software) and Macromedia (now acquired by Adobe).
Mr. Jacobs' career was cut short by a genetic kidney disease, forcing him to resign as Vice President of Business Development for Macromedia, Inc., in the spring of 2001. He subsequently spent 3.5 years on the deceased donor organ waiting list and 1.5 year on dialysis while his health continued to decline. During this time, Mr. Jacobs identified a number of areas in the medical field that could be improved by technology solutions.
Having received a successful kidney transplant in December of 2004, Mr. Jacobs immediately began developing a paired-kidney exchange software application to make better use of available living donor organs for kidney transplantation.
