Orlov's negative-toned comments about Chechens are not accurate. Refer to Human Rights Watch, Amnesty Int. and the UN web sites. Also, his comment that Muslims will become the ethnic majority is not even close to being right. From Wikipedia: [According to a poll by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center, 63% of respondents considered themselves Russian Orthodox, 6% of respondents considered themselves Muslim and less than 1% considered themselves either Buddhist, Catholic, Protestant or Jewish. Another 12% said they believe in God, but did not practice any religion, and 16% said they are non-believers.]
All that said, Orlov is to be commended for spreading good amounts of common sense on insular Americans. It’s probab. Too late for any grass-roots political movements to work (Google Chalmers Johnson Nemesis UCTV). US mainstream media is bought and paid for by corporate elites who are in bed with govt elites, and “intellectuals” (as Noam Chomsky may put it). The forthcoming depression, collapse or whatever must be kept from over-worked & cheated low- and middle-class citizens (90% of population) so American multi-millionaires and billionaires can keep raking in $$. The corporate bailouts of corrupt US corps and refusal to nationalize banks, plus preventing single-payer health, plus ....SIGH!

I think his comments and projections are fully legitimate
historically and otherwise. The degree to which his analysis
is profound will only be measured by time. Aside from that,
his humor is quite refined and kind hearted. Im sure he hopes
for the best like the rest of us but being prepared for the worst
and being a realist is a dire necessity today.

Very interesting talk. Orlov has many good survival ideas.

He assumes that there will still be a great deal of central economic & social planning ("i think we should pass a law...", "public transport & utilities" etc.)

I don't believe that the existing power structures are going to have the level of relevance or influence that they currently enjoy, once people's primary concern is subsistence- especially considering the demise of their primary mechanism of coercion: the centrally controlled fiat currency scheme.

I found it quite profound too, and it's best viewed as a whole rather than trying to get the gist of what he's saying from the highlights

One of the MOST PROFOUND videos i have ever seen. I hate being right all the time, and in honesty i can only claim to mention some of the important elements for survival that Dimitry does, but: taking care of people, community and providing the basics...beyond that it is all fun...http://trickleup101.blogspot.com/
