Excellent, very good, Mormons are famous for saving 2 years of food, they have survival methods built into their religious organizations. The collapse will put millions on stress medication, suicide is already rising globally, military and youth. The comparison is interesting because obesity, diabetes, brain dysfunctions are more prevalent in USA.Food centers shelters and medication centers beginning of Orwells 1984 and Brave New World, Huxley, both wrapped up together, consuming the publics rights, POLICE STATE Internet kill switch, mind control, fusion centers fEMA CAMPS, PERCEPTION MANAGEMENT CENTERS,IT IS ALL ALREADY HERE GESTAPO IS NOW HOMELAND SECURITY, He is right thanks Fora Tv.

I found Mr. Orlov's presentation very informative and useful. It seems obvious to be concerned with what our "basic needs are" (Food, Shelter, Transportation and Security). Yet, what Mr. Orlov reminds us is NOT what these basic needs are, but that we should NOT take them for granted in a post-collapse USA! The other thing we need to be prepared about is knowing what's coming, so we're not shocked when it occurs! Americans are a spoiled bunch and when I discuss this topic with most of them, they shrug their shoulders and disagree. When I discuss this with my fiancee in Ukraine, she says, "yes, we've been there, we'll survive." Some of her friends were offered job payments in toilet paper, since they ran out of money! Unreal! Somehow I think I'm lucky that I have a (future) wife who will NOT be shocked that after she arrives in 4-5 weeks, things could get bumpy. (Lviv looks more promising all the time!) She's one of the few friends who understands completely what I'm talking about when I warn her of the risks of moving here. Those that LIVE HERE? They haven't a clue, except to complain about how bad the economy is or how high their health insurance is. Well, if you want your health care to be less expensive, take better care of your health! Fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and herbs--THIS is the way we need to eat. Besides, it's the food you'll be growing if you have a place to grow some food. My new house (rental) will have five acres of land--plenty of land to grow some food (my new landlord wants some fresh produce, so I'm lucky, really). Thanks for that excellent presentation.

Although he never was asked to explain, everyone here heard him mention the rise of "ethnic mafias." I'm glad that I don't live in an "ethnically diverse" city, anymore. How about you?

“We will run of cars, just like we will run out of gas” No kidding, how right he was about GM falling apart. For New Yorker registered users below is the article mentioned in his presentation http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2...a_fact_mcgrath

Although inaccurate sometimes, Dmitry Orlov, does a good job in drawing parallels between social collapse within capitalist and communist systems – US and USSR. Prior to his analysis majority of experts saw the major cause of the Soviet breakup in either inability to conform to the free market economy or to withstand external pressures from competition (US). Orlov, on the other hand, seeks to uncover internal causes of social collapse: lack of food, shelter, transportation and security. Although some of his statements seem ridiculous right now, they may become a grave reality.

Fiscal Wake-up Tour!!
If you read this then you're probably the type of person that is already aware of the country's dire fiscal situation. I encourage everyone to read the latest fiscal update (as of March 2009) from the Peter G Peterson Foundation, headed by David Walker the former head of the Government Accountability Office. The per household share of the federal debt is $483,000!!! This is unsustainable. For a more in depth analysis of the situation, watch the movie "IOUSA". http://www.pgpf.org/resources/PGPF_C...Guide_2009.pdf http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...67650600562607

Orlov's negative-toned comments about Chechens are not accurate. Refer to Human Rights Watch, Amnesty Int. and the UN web sites. Also, his comment that Muslims will become the ethnic majority is not even close to being right. From Wikipedia: [According to a poll by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center, 63% of respondents considered themselves Russian Orthodox, 6% of respondents considered themselves Muslim and less than 1% considered themselves either Buddhist, Catholic, Protestant or Jewish. Another 12% said they believe in God, but did not practice any religion, and 16% said they are non-believers.] All that said, Orlov is to be commended for spreading good amounts of common sense on insular Americans. It’s probab. Too late for any grass-roots political movements to work (Google Chalmers Johnson Nemesis UCTV). US mainstream media is bought and paid for by corporate elites who are in bed with govt elites, and “intellectuals” (as Noam Chomsky may put it). The forthcoming depression, collapse or whatever must be kept from over-worked & cheated low- and middle-class citizens (90% of population) so American multi-millionaires and billionaires can keep raking in $$. The corporate bailouts of corrupt US corps and refusal to nationalize banks, plus preventing single-payer health, plus ....SIGH!
