Bill Bynum founded Hope Community Credit Union to serve the "unbanked" of the Mississippi Delta Region, helping address the significant housing and other credit issues following Hurricane Katrina.
Hope offers commercial loans, mortgages, and rebuilding assistance to over 9,600 members, 75 percent of which are in low income communities.

William Bynum
Bill Bynum is Chief Executive Officer of ECD/HOPE (Enterprise Corporation of the Delta and Hope Community Credit Union).
Previously, Bynum helped establish Self-Help, a pioneer in the development banking industry, and managed financing and community development initiatives at the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center.
A University of North Carolina graduate, Bynum is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and was named 2002 National Supporter of Entrepreneurship by Ernst & Young and the Kauffman Foundation, and the 2007 Annie Vamper Award recipient by the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.
He serves on the boards of the Regions Bank Community Development Corporation, Foundation for the Mid South, Mississippi Childrens Museum, Partners for the Common Good, Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, on the Mississippi Access to Justice Commission, and is Chairman of the Presidents Community Development Advisory Board.
