Sidney Harman - Sidney Harman is executive chairman of Harman International Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-quality, high-fidelity audio, video, and navigation products for automotive, consumer, and professional markets.
From 1970 to 1973, he was president of Friends World College, a worldwide experimental Quaker college. Harman founded the Program on Technology, Public Policy, and Human Development at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
He has written extensively on productivity, quality of working life, and economic policy. He is the co-author (with Daniel Yankelovich) of Starting with the People and the author of Mind Your Own Business. He also serves as a trustee of the Aspen Institute.
Danny Hillis - Danny Hillis is chairman and co-founder of Applied Minds. Previously, he was vice president and Disney fellow for Research and Development at Walt Disney Imagineering, and a co-founder of Thinking Machines Corp.
While completing his doctorate at MIT, he pioneered the concept of parallel computers that is now the basis for most supercomputers, as well as the RAID disk array technology used to store large databases.
He is the recipient of the inaugural Dan David Prize, the Spirit of American Creativity Award, the Hopper Award, and the Ramanujan Award. He is a fellow of the Association of Computing Machinery, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the International Leadership Forum, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
Dan Mote - C. D. (Dan) Mote Jr. is president of the University of Maryland and the Glenn L. Martin Institute Professor of Engineering. Prior to assuming the presidency at Maryland, he served for 31 years on the faculty at the University of California at Berkeley.
From 1991 to 1998, he was Berkeley’s vice chancellor, held an endowed chair in mechanical systems, and was president of the UC Berkeley Foundation.
He earlier served as chairman of Berkeley's department of mechanical engineering. His research focuses on dynamic systems and biomechanics, and he is internationally recognized for his research on the dynamics of gyroscopic systems.
William Swope - William A. Swope is corporate vice president and general manager of Intel's Corporate Affairs Group and is responsible for ensuring Intel's continued focus on corporate social responsibility as an integral part of Intel's corporate strategy.
In this role, he leads the company's global education and citizenship programs, as well as its community and corporate contribution activities and the Intel Foundation. His team is charged with driving policy, education, and community agendas that effect positive change around the world.
Since joining Intel in 1979, Swope has held numerous roles including manufacturing technology planning, strategic product planning and product management.
Swope was director of Digital Enterprise Brand Management, and prior to that he was general manager of the Software and Solutions Group (SSG), reporting to the president and chief operating officer of Intel.
In that capacity he managed the software products and enabling efforts within SSG. From 1993 to 1995, Swope was the general manager of the Intel® Pentium Pro processor team.
Swope was promoted to vice president in 1996 and corporate vice president in 2003.
