Gregory A. Boyko - Gregory A. Boyko has served as president and chief executive officer of Hartford Life Insurance K.K., the 100 percent owned subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group in Japan, since April 2006. As the leading seller of variable annuities in Japan, The Hartford’s Japan operations help people plan for a comfortable retirement.
Previously, Boyko served concurrently as chairman of Hartford Life Insurance K.K., executive vice president of Hartford Life Insurance Co. and chairman and CEO of Hartford Life International since 1998. In those roles, he was responsible for the expansion of The Hartford’s lines of business - including life insurance, investment products and employee benefits - into the global marketplace, including in Japan, Brazil and the United Kingdom.
Boyko joined The Hartford in 1995 as controller of Hartford Life and in 1996 became the life insurer’s chief financial officer and treasurer, where he was instrumental in preparing Hartford Life for its initial public stock offering in May 1997.
Boyko is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut School of Law. He also holds a number of professional degrees, including the Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Life Underwriter, and Chartered Financial Consultant designations.
He is an Honorary Consul General for Japan, a member of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations, the Connecticut Society of CPA’s, Director of the Japan Society of New York, Chairman of the International Committee of the American Council of Life Insurers, a director of the World Affairs Council of Connecticut, a member of the Hartford Metro Chamber of Commerce, a corporator of Hartford’s St. Francis Hospital and a member of the St. Francis Foundation Board of Directors.
Felicity Harley - Felicity Harley is the executive director of the World Affairs Council of Connecticut.
Felicity Harley has an extensive professional background that combines 30 years of national and international experience as a senior manager and Chief Executive Officer in nonprofit institutions, and is currently the Executive Director of the World Affairs Council of Connecticut. Felicity Harley was educated in Great Britain and the United States. She is a published writer and poet.
Thomas Lips - Thomas Lips serves on the Board of Directors of The World Affairs Council of Connecticut.
Yoichi Suzuki - Mr. Yoichi Suzuki arrived in Boston in mid October, 2005 to assume the post of Consul General of Japan in Boston. He has previously served in the Japanese Embassies in Paris and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in the Political Section. He has also served as Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan to the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. He has long experience dealing with trade negotiations and has served as chairman of various international trade bodies.
