The seminar session will focus on HR/benefits managers who are responsible for the development and implementation of companies’ wellness initiatives and benefits. Building on the senior leader perspectives provided during the keynote session (1/30), the seminar will provide detailed information on the components of a comprehensive smoking cessation benefit as defined by the CDC, how smoking cessation benefits can be communicated to workforces and various methods for providing incentives for worker participation- Partnership for Prevention

Bio
Maria Bomersbach
Maria Bomersbach has been with Quest Diagnostics, the nations leading provider of diagnostics testing, information and services for over ten years. She was a core team member for the initial design and implementation of HealthyQuest, an internal company program designed to engage employees in monitoring and improving their health.
Maria’s primary role was to work with the HealthyQuest Program Manager to ensure process improvement tools and methodologies were applied to define, monitor and sustain the program in order to build stakeholder relationships, manage Health Promotion Teams and influence a company wide cultural change.
Maria is a Corporate Six Sigma Certified Black Belt, a Certified DDI Training Instructor, Project Manager and also a Mentor for Women Unlimited, an independent organization that grows women’s leadership skills. Her professional affiliations include the American Society of Quality and various community/charitable organizations.
Ann Skye
Ann Skye is a registered nurse with extensive wellness, health education and clinical research experience and has been in her current position since the launch of the company’s wellness program in 2006. Quintiles got its start in wellness through its CEO’s participation on the CEO Roundtable on Cancer. Ann developed and launched the wellness program using the CEO Cancer Gold Standard model thereby putting in place a comprehensive set of evidence based benefits and resources that reach a diverse work force through innovative and fun ways.
She received her BSN from The University of Michigan and her MPH from The University of North Carolina School of Public Health.
Linda Thomas
Linda Thomas is a manager for the University of Michigan Health Services Tobacco Consultation Service. In her capacity there, she developed the overall strategy for the implementation of a smoke-free environment for the University of Michigan Health System in 1999. Ms. Thomas initiated tobacco cessation programs in both a bedside and outpatient format. She has provided nicotine addiction treatment in both the individual and group counseling formats for over 17 years. Her clientele ranges from youth to older adults.
She provides CME training for healthcare and mental health clinicians on nicotine addiction, tobacco cessation, smoke-free environments, and motivation interviewing. Ms. Thomas is the Project Director for the Michigan Smoke-free Hospitals grant that provides assistance to Michigan healthcare facilities in implementing smoke-free environments. Her presentations and publications are in the areas of perceptions of well-being in older adults, smoke-free environments, the relationship between nicotine withdrawal and work performance, and the use of statistics in behavioral research.
She is a member of the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence. Ms Thomas completed her certification as Tobacco Treatment Specialist - Masters Level through the University of Massachusetts. She has completed her coursework and internship for a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University. She completed her Masters degree in counseling at the University of Utah.
Marcy Zauha
Marcy Zauha is the director of health and safety for Union Pacific Railroad.
