Nora Abousteit
Nora Abousteit is co-founder of BurdaStyle, an open source sewing community, which she runs with her business partner Benedikta Karaisl von Karais.
She is also in the staff of Dr. Hubert Burda and was part of the organizing team for the DLD conference 2005 and 2006 as well as for several World Economic Forum related events for Hubert Burda Media. Before her career in Media, she worked in Business Development and Corporate Marketing for a large Kuwaiti food processing company in Cairo, Egypt, where she also received a degree in Middle East Studies from the American University in Cairo.
Marko Ahtisaari
Marko Ahtisaari is responsible for the brand and design Blyk. Blyk is a pan-European free mobile operator for young people, funded by advertising.
Marko Ahtisaari was born in Helsinki, Finland and raised on three continents in Helsinki, Dar es Salaam and New York. He went on to study philosophy, economics and music at Columbia University in the City of New York.
Ahtisaari is part of the team behind Blyk. He also serves on the board of directors of F-Secure Corporation and Artek oy ab, is an advisor to FON (the worlds largest WiFi community backed by Google, Skype, Sequoia Capital and Index Ventures) and a founding investor in Dopplr - the online service for frequent travellers.
Before Blyk, he worked as Director of Design Strategy at Nokia.Prior to Nokia, he built and lead the mobile practice at digital services company Satama and co-founded the Aula network that organizes events in Finland with the world's leading experts on Internet service business and design.
Little known fact: Ahtisaari had a parallel professional life in music as a bassist and composer and continues to compose ambient music for public and private spaces.
Candace Johnson
Candace Johnson is an international telecommunications expert and entrepreneur, and one of the 50 most powerful businesswomen in Europe.
She is co-initiator of SES ASTRA and SES Global, one of the largest satellite systems in the world. She is also the founder and president of Europe Online, the world's first Internet via satellite network and is the founder of the continent's first independent, private trans-border satellite communications company, Teleport Europe-Loral Cyberstar. Johnson is the Chairman of the Sophia Business Angels, a founding investor in Ariadne Capital and Sophia EuroLab and a founding Advisory Board Member of the Luxembourg Business Angels.
Kaiser Kuo
Kaiser Kuo is group director, digital strategy, for Ogilvy China. Before joining Ogilvy, he served as China bureau chief for Red Herring, a leading Silicon Valley-based technology business magazine, where he covered the business of technology in China and elsewhere in East Asia.
Previously, he also worked as Creative Director for two wireless companies, Mobile Internet Games and Nasdaq-listed Linktone, where he created successful mobile game concepts; and as Editor-in-Chief for the multi-city online guide ChinaNow.com. Kaiser serves on the board of advisors of design and product innovation firm Touch360, and belongs to the Global Business Network's network of "Remarkable People."
Kaiser holds a BA in Political Science from U.C. Berkeley and an MA in East Asian Studies from the University of Arizona. Co-founder of China's first and most successful Heavy Metal band, Tang Dynasty, he remains active in the music scene, performing and recording with his band Chunqiu (Spring & Autumn), for which he plays lead guitar, and also plays bass with the Beijing-based AC/DC tribute band Dirty Deeds. Born in upstate New York and raised in Arizona, Kaiser is a self-described "lifer" in China who has already spent well over a dozen years in China.
He now lives in Beijing with his wife and two young children. When he's not playing music or enjoying family life, he chronicles his life in Beijing in the popular back page column of English-language magazine that's Beijing-a column which, like his personal blog, is called "Ich Bin Ein Beijinger."

Nadya Peek studies AI at the University of Amsterdam, and works part time at Mediamatic Foundation.

Marleen is co-founder of PICNIC - Amsterdam Cross Media Week.
Marleen Stikker is Founder and Director of Waag Society, a medialab which develops new creative technologies for culture, health, education and society. Waag Society initated the Mediaguild, an incubator that supports creative new media talent. Marleen is Co-Founder of Pakhuis de Zwijger, a warehouse for media and culture that opens it doors during PICNIC '06 Cross Media Week.
In 1993, Marleen initiated De Digitale Stad (DDS), the first Digital City on the Internet.
Marleen is a member of the national advisory board Netherlands ICT Research and Innovation Authority (ICTRegie).
