Yeah okay just go - hello. Hello good afternoon good good morning have your seats. Hi I am Eckart Wintzen, Dutch entrepreneur, Green entrepreneur and this is Woody Harrelson famous American actor, for those who just out the [0:02:39] ____ see again okay he is the guy who is the bartender on Cheers. He is the guy who played Larry Flynt, he was actor in 'Indecent Proposal' and 'Natural Born Killers' he was for me was the biggest hero I have ever seen you know, not for the act for the act, whether or not for the content first of all. I would like to start on this green moment with a something that you did yourself Woody. Woody and I know each other from - since ten years or something both fighting for the green sake in this world and one of the stuff you have ever done is - I have heard of - I wasn't there - is that you climbed or was up the Golden Gate Bridge. What actually what actually was the act or what's it for, how did you do it? How the heck does somebody get up in the Golden Gate Bridge? Yeah we climb the Golden Gate Bridge because it was a protest for the cutting of the ancient redwoods in northern California and so we put a sign out there. Charles Hurwitz was the guy on pacific lumber that was responsible for he had just bought it and was increasing the cut three times what it was before and it - it had been at a somewhat sustainable level but anyway he started really cutting the ancient trees there and a bunch of us were upset about it and climbed up the Golden Gate Bridge with the sign "Hurwitz, our ancient redwoods worth more than gold" and the way we climbed it was with these simple ascenders just went right up the - you know But how high is it? Is it something like 30 meters high or 40 or some thing like that? Well there it's it was about that 350 feet above the water - . 100 meters up - I don't know how far above the bridge it was - Did the police does stop you? The police were not happy about it and and they they let us know that in the recent - that unfortunately what happened is you know, sometimes the media - believe it or not can have can decide for the public what the event was and it became all about the traffic. So it was kind of unfortunate that I was saying, they couldn't see the the trees for the traffic but yeah you know it became a real thing about how we shut down the traffic but it was really the copes shut down an extra lane which was what made the traffic so extreme and they did that because I I didn't get on the radio to talk with them because we were trying to deploy this banner. Did you get arrested? Yeah we all got arrested Good. How long did you get and did you go into prison? Just for the night. How was that? Its fun meet a lot of cool people you wouldn't have met otherwise. How did you get - how do you get involved in this in in this green stuff what makes what makes an actor - a Hollywood actor who kind of live like Gordon France or Gordon California, what makes him to spend the night in prison rather than you know what what changed your mind? Well I don't know I I think that anybody who has walked among the ancient trees where ever they be would proudly be emotionally attached to those trees and for me I have walked among these big beautiful trees that were here before Christ, they were here before Christ but they didn't survive Hurwitz and - you know you look at these amazing beautiful creatures who have just you know been around so long and proudly if they could talk, they have so much wisdom but I want those trees to be around with my with my kids and their kids - you know get to be my age Do you have serious hope that they will still be there for your kids? Yeah I have hope, I mean if I didn't have hope I suppose I wouldn't be here. Right right so this is an audience that has - most of people are relatively young and they are in the new media, they are creative, they are - Let me take back that media thing I said earlier I love the media every thing about the media. You want some water? Yeah please here we go - We have got oil wars now but eventually it will just be water wars What is it about - what is that what worries you most at present in the world, if you were king of the world, what would you change? Well I I would say the thing that worries me most is war you know I mean there is other things that in the long term may be more difficult - you know the global warming issues one that will will pay the price for in a big way but the war all over the world is horrible and particularly when your country is invading another country just for its oil - you know if they were selling flowers in Iraq and that was their main export or their main crop - Like Holland's? We wouldn't be over there, so yeah that really distresses me. So we shouldn't be afraid for Bush we shouldn't afraid for Bush that he invaded invades our country because we don't have oil? Yeah I doubt he is going to be invading this country you know For our gas may be what how can we change - how can how can this audience help change? Well I I look at things on a much more personal level yeah I - I discovered that they did this they did the study where they tried to find out how change is implemented and they found that - here is, the way they did it was they went into the the showers of this this college and in the showers they put up these signs that said - you know after you "when you are soaping up, turn off the showers" and they found that just from the signs alone about ten percent of the people responded. Then they put in somebody a model I guess you would call it who would who would turn off the turn off the showers and do it and they - and it jumped from - the compliance jumped to about 40 percent, then they put in another model and the compliance jumped up to sixty percent and they found that the thing that create change more than anything is a model, is someone else doing it and so each one of you, everyone here you know whether you be in the media or whether you be a business person, you are you are no doubt a model to your friends and anything you do, if you do something you know like if you change the cleansers that you are using and someone said "where where did you get that? You can explain to them you know most cleansers are toxic petrochemical cleansers that are thousands times more toxic than anything they are supposed to be cleaning. You know these cleansers you get in a blue bottle or you know that's toxic. So you know little things like that is you show yourself to be doing it, you are - people around you might start doing it as well. So I think that your personal action is really important in terms of transformation It looks like in the United States carbon dioxide or you know the the green house effect hasn't reached the people yet or it's - it doesn't really worry them I find that in the United States that people are not really worried and even the United States didn't sign the KYOTO agreements Yeah but I think you got to make a distinction between the government of the United States and the people and I think the people at large are becoming a lot more aware of the the crisis, thanks to Al Gore and some other people who have put in the news but definitely the government has no interest I mean the government is a industry and Mussolini said a long time ago that the right word for Fascism should be corporatism and I think that's what we got going in the United States, an interesting version of corporatism/Fascism in terms of the government We got 15 minutes we got [0:11:24] ____ now I just you know I ask your advice for the audience I may add one more to the advice you would - you gave and that is that a sane world comes form sane people and sanity is also the a testement with how you treat how you treat your mind, how you your body. So I understand that at 12'O clock you will give a yoga session. Yeah. And he wants to be we are trying to be the biggest yoga class at least of the world or may be - No that that isn't going to happen we just want people to come out. May I may I suggest the audience here to come there, it's going to be very very simple, it's not - you don't have you know you don't need special clothing, there is nothing it's - but it's going to be yoga, there is [0:12:13] ____ feeling if you have if your body feels great, probably your action will be great as well. So hope to see you there at 12'O clock this afternoon Thank you.
