Bio
John Bruton
John Bruton is European Union Ambassador to the United States and a former Irish Prime Minister. As the EU Commission's head of delegation in the US, Ambassador Bruton explains major EU developments and discusses the importance of the EU-US relationship in matters of trade, counterterrorism, public health, energy, the environment, and the promotion of peace, democracy, and human rights around the world.
He has served as a member of the Irish Parliament as well as Ireland's Minister of Finance, Minister for Industry and Energy, Minister for Trade, Commerce and Tourism, and Parliamentary Secretary. He was as a member of the convention that drafted the first European Constitution, and from 1999 to 2005 he was vice president of the European People's Party.
Clive Crook
Clive Crook is a Senior Editor of The Atlantic and Chief Washington Commentator of The Financial Times. In addition, he writes a column for National Journal and serves as chief editorial adviser to David Bradley, the chairman of Atlantic Media Group.
He was formerly on the staff of The Economist, where he was deputy editor from 1993 to 2005.
A graduate of Oxford and the London School of Economics, he has served as a consultant to The World Bank and worked as an official in the British Treasury. He lives in Washington, D.C.
Barry Eichengreen
Barry Eichengreen is the George C. Pardee and Helen N. Pardee Professor of Economics and Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has taught since 1987. He is also research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research in Massachusetts, a research fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London, and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the convener of the Bellagio Group of academics and economic officials and has held Guggenheim and Fulbright fellowships. Eichengreen has served as senior policy advisor at the International Monetary Fund, is the author of three books, and has won several teaching awards.

Princess Mabel van Oranje-Nassau
Princess Mabel van Oranje-Nassau van Amsberg is the London-based international advocacy director of the Open Society Institute and a founding member of the European Council on Foreign Relations. Previously, she was the executive director of the Open Society Institute in Brussels and the founder and executive director of the European Action Council for Peace in the Balkans. She also co-founded and was a board member of War Child, a Dutch foundation. She holds master degrees in economics and political science from the University of Amsterdam. The World Economic Forum elected her as one of its "Global Leaders of Tomorrow" in 2003 and one of its "Young Global Leaders" in 2005.
