I don’t understand this lecture. making statements critical to the left but with no facts, just statements. I really don’t see how simple stating that your ideas are logical and brilliant and attacking others for there arrogance and unthinking ways. but they ignore all relevant data. And I don’t understand why they think they understand that there ideas are simple unpopular and don’t work in reality. Trying to blame the administration for not understanding how to sell there ideas is wrong headed approach to figuring out what went wrong with bush administration. I agree with what they are trying to do, but I think they do not really understand what’s going on because of there preconceptions of the world are making them unable to understand themselves. I can think of the lectures I have heard from liberals and its not really trying to beef themselves up against there unpopularity. If fact most people agree with progressive ideas they just have a identity with republicans. So usually they just try to understand why people support republicans at all because of there proven terrible ideas. The first speaker seems to be trying to hedge against conservative critics and therefore is her opening statement is so congratulatory to conservatives and there brilliance. In a ironic part of her speech, She also says conservatives are incredibly witty but herself she is very boring and her arguments are poorly formed.

And saying the other side is angry all the time, is not really a argument for anything.

The ignorance and arrogance on display in this video goes a long way to displaying why Republicans have gotten their butts kicked over the last couple years. Everything is claimed by assertion. Conservatives are smarter, more thoughtful, funnier, etc. And correct, of course! When a movement insists on interpreting every single criticism of it as some kind of badge of honor, nothing good is in the offing.

Oh my God, Tod Lindberg, you've got to be kidding me! Liberals don't respect conservatives, huh? "They're doing it again...just a lack of respect for people who disagree with them!" Buddy, as a liberal who grew up in Rush Limbaugh's ultra-conservative Missouri hometown during the "Republican Revolution" of the mid-ninties I assure you "unthinking arrogance" is not an exclusively liberal value. Give me a break.

"Bush hate." Man. It's like "Clinton hate" never happened. Although I guess when you've been hermetically sealed into a Stanford think tank since the end of the Reagan Administration it's easy to make mistakes like that.

What a joke.
