Kara W. Beal
Kara W. Beal is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Kirkland and Ellis. She is a member of Kirkland and Ellis' corporate group focusing in the areas of public and private company mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate securities. She represents buyers, sellers, private equity funds and sponsor groups in merger and acquisition transactions. Her transactional experience also includes debt and securities offerings for both public and private companies.
Annette Jarvis
Annette Jarvis is a shareholder at Ray, Quinney & Nebeker in Salt Lake City. She has extensive experience in representing debtors, trustees, examiners, creditors' committees, creditors, indenture trustees, equity holders, public bond holders and purchasers of assets in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.
She maintains an "AV" rating with Martindale-Hubbell. She has also been named as one of The Best Lawyers in America in Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law, and has also been voted by her peers throughout the state as one of Utah's "Legal Elite" in the categories of Bankruptcy/Creditor Rights Law and Corporate Law (as published in Utah Business Magazine).
Gayla Moss
Gayla Moss is a vice president in Motorola's corporate law department and is the chief legal counsel responsible for managing the legal affairs and the legal team for Motorola's Connected Home Solutions business.
Beth Nixon
Beth Nixon serves as legal counsel for Pepperdine University's Center for Estate and Gift Planning.
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Elizabeth (Beth) Nixon moved to the United States with her husband in 1986. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, and then attended Pepperdine's School of Law.
While in law school, Beth earned the distinction of Best Petitioner Brief, which award was presented to her by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Hannah C. Smith
Hannah C. Smith recently finished serving as a law clerk to Associate Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr. on the U.S. Supreme Court during the 2005 Term. She also clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas on the U.S. Supreme Court during the 2003 Term.
Ms. Smith received her A.B. from Princeton University in 1995, concentrating in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. She received her J.D. from Brigham Young University Law School in 2001. Following law school, she and her husband John clerked together for Judge Samuel A. Alito, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Ms. Smith served as a full-time missionary in the Switzerland Geneva Mission. She currently serves as Relief Society President in her ward.
