9-11 Organizations Five Years Later a plenary from the 9-11 Plus 5: A Hope Not Hate Summit hosted by Americans for Informed Democracy (AID)
The Summit was a three-day conference in Washington, D.C., that brought young leaders from around the world together to commemorate the fifth anniversary of September 11th and to discuss how to improve US-Islamic world relations over the next five years.
The Summit was co-sponsored by Americans for Informed Democracy and The Saban Center for Middle East Policy at The Brookings Institution.
Bio
Seth Green
Seth Green is the President of Americans for Informed Democracy, a non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization working to raise global awareness on more than 500 U.S. university campuses and in over 10 countries. Green has worked at the Brookings Institution, Taxpayers for Common Sense, The American Prospect, and Lazard Freres, and has helped to lead several successful NGO chapters and activist movements. Green is a frequent contributor to newspapers and television programs, having published op-eds on U.S. foreign policy in the Christian Science Monitor and the Miami Herald, and having been a guest on C-SPAN's Washington Journal, the Montel Williams Show, CNN, and MSNBC.
Green's work with AID has also been featured by hundreds of publications, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Associated Press, Chronicle of Higher Education, and Marie Claire. A Marshall scholar, Green graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University and earned masters degrees in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and in Women's Studies from Oxford University. He is currently completing a JD degree at Yale Law School, where he was named an Olin Fellow by the Center for Studies in Law, Economics, and Public Policy.

Dr. Hassan A. Ibrahim
Dr. Hassan A. Ibrahim, visiting associate professor, has been a professor or consultant at several area universities, including Marymount University, The George Washington University, and the University of Maryland University College. Ibrahim has a D.Sc. and an M.S. in engineering management from The George Washington University, and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Riyad University in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ibrahim is apart of the MPAC Foundation Board of Directors.
Carol Kellerman
Carol was the Executive Director and CEO of the September 11th Fund, a $500 million charity fund created to help 9/11 victims. Carol previously served as Executive Director for Learning Leaders, the oldest school volunteer program in the country and was also Chief of Staff for New York Senator Charles (Chuck) Schumer when he was in Congress. Her career has included stints as a government and public affairs consultant to corporate and nonprofit organizations as well as varied positions within the New York City government such as: Staff Director of the Mayor's Advisory Task Force on the Homeless, Deputy Commissioner for the City's Department of Finance, and Special Counsel to the Office of Tax Policy and Analysis. She began her professional life as an associate appellate attorney for the Legal Aid Society of New York City.
Jennifer Mincin
Jennifer Mincin is currently a consultant with EAD & Associates, a woman-owned, emergency management and special needs consulting firm providing particular expertise in special needs emergency planning, a distinct discipline that ensures people with physical, sensory, and/or cognitive disabilities are prepared for man-made or natural disasters and emergencies and their consequences.
